Finding your calm space
I once read the following quote, and it stuck with me:
"I don't have social media on my phone. The more time you spend in the stream of other people's thoughts, the more impossible it is for you to have your own. You need space for yourself."
-Yancey Strickler, CEO of Kickstarter
I believe it is important to consume as much information as possible to learn from - but then to use it or reinforce it in some way.
To have a point of view.
I find space by setting moments in the day to read, breathe, or reflect.
In the morning, mid-day, and at night.
It is important for me to enter my "mind palace" or simply a quiet place.
To breathe, recharge, and reflect.
This is where part of my strength comes from.
Often, ideas will come to me when I am parsing through notes, going through chores, or on a run.
I'd love to know: what are your methods for carving out mindful moments?
